ResonateMusic teaching & learning

Learn & teach

A home for music teachers and the people who want to learn from them. Teachers keep their own rates and schedule; students get matched to someone who actually teaches what they want to play.

For teachers

Careers on Resonate

Keep your own rates, your own repertoire and your own schedule. We handle the listing, the enquiries and the paperwork around them.

  • Set your rate and your availability — no exclusivity, no minimum hours.
  • Teach online, from wherever you are — no studio to rent and no travel.
  • Built on a company that already runs the stage, so your students have somewhere to play.

For students

Learn on Resonate

From a first lesson to competition preparation. Once the roster opens, you will tell us the instrument and roughly where you are now, and we will match you to a teacher who actually teaches it.

  • Any age from six up — and a guardian is part of the conversation under eighteen.
  • Weekly lessons, intensive blocks, or exam and audition preparation.
  • A clear path from the practice room to an Event stage.

The process

How it works

Three steps on each side, and a person at the other end of all six of them. Nothing here is automated yet, which is why it is described as it actually happens.

If you teach

  1. Tell us what you teach

Instrument, level, the timezone you teach from and the rate you already charge. We do not ask for exclusivity.

  2. We check and publish

A short conversation about what you teach and who you teach it to, and then your listing goes live on this page.

  3. Enquiries reach you

We pass on students whose instrument, level and schedule actually match yours, rather than every enquiry that arrives.

If you want to learn

  1. Say what you want to play

The instrument, roughly where you are now.

  2. Meet a teacher

We suggest one or two who fit, and you have a first lesson before anybody commits to a term.

  3. Keep going — and play

Lessons settle into a rhythm that suits you.

Who you could be learning from

Nobody is listed here yet. Resonate is new, applications are open, and the first teachers to come through will be the first names on this rail.

If you teach, the section below is for you.

Either side welcome

Resonate is being built roster first

Which means the teachers come before the software, and the teaching side is the half that is open. Apply and a person reads it — there is no automated screen between your application and somebody at Haiku Events.
